Our CEO, Yuji Iwata, has been appointed as an Ambassador for Small and Medium-sized Enterprises.

Leveraging my past experience, I will do my utmost, however small, to contribute to the development of local small and medium-sized enterprises.

On Wednesday, June 11, Yusuke Iwata, President and CEO of Iwata Co., Ltd. (headquartered in Kyoto City, Kyoto Prefecture), was appointed as a "SME Supporter" by the Organization for Small & Medium Enterprises and Regional Innovation (SME Support, Japan). The ceremony to present the letter of appointment and certificate of appreciation was held at Iwata's head office. In FY2025, 35 new individuals from across Japan were selected for this role.

Upon Appointment

SME Support, Japan provided us with meticulous assistance through expert dispatch and hands-on support. Thanks to their help, we were able to open our first overseas IWATA brand store in Taiwan last year. Our current business expansion is also supported by the numerous pieces of advice we have received.
Going forward, based on our own experience, we hope to convey to many people the significance and potential of utilizing SME Support, Japan's support menus to solve the management challenges faced by small and medium-sized enterprises."

About SME Supporters

This initiative, launched by SME Support, Japan (officially: Organization for Small & Medium Enterprises and Regional Innovation) in FY2019, appoints business owners and support organizations from various parts of Japan who have made significant contributions to the success of small and medium-sized enterprises and small businesses, and to regional development, as "SME Supporters." This year, with the new appointment of 35 individuals, a total of 194 people are now engaged in these activities.

The specific activities of SME Supporters include conveying the content of SME Support, Japan's support to SMEs.
