The feel of a down product is determined not by the down ratio, but by the maturity of the down. The maturity of the down is determined by the size of each down ball. Mature down has many barbs on the down feather, forming large down balls that provide high thermal insulation. On the other hand, even if there is a lot of immature, small down, the down ratio will increase, but such immature down has low thermal insulation, so it is not warm and does not provide a good sleeping experience.
At Iwata, we have established strict quality standards and only use down that has passed inspections at the Iwata Down Research Institute.

Conventional down fabrics are resin-treated to prevent down from escaping, meaning they cannot be sun-dried or washed.

This is a rare goose down sourced from Hungary, a country renowned for producing the highest quality down in the world. The geese are raised for 3-4 years in an environment as close to nature as possible in Eastern Europe.
Furthermore, the largest down clusters with the finest fibers are meticulously hand-selected.
Among Eastern European Hungary's top-tier down products is Hungarian Hand-Selected Goose Down. From the extremely high-quality down of geese raised for over two years on carefully selected contract farms, only the largest clusters are further chosen by hand.
The silver goose, which inhabits the extremely cold regions of Eastern Europe, is raised for nearly a year, particularly in harsh winter environments. This results in a larger body size than common geese and allows for the harvesting of very high-quality feathers.
Because the farms are small, the geese are carefully monitored and raised naturally without the use of synthetic feeds. The down balls harvested from these silver geese are exceptionally large and have densely developed barbs.
Hungarian down is particularly large, offering excellent heat retention, durability, and resilience.
Even in Europe, a leader in down production, it is ranked as high-quality down, and its quality is highly regarded worldwide.
Ukraine is a country in Eastern Europe, bordering Hungary and Poland to the west. Most of its territory consists of flat hills and fertile land.
Because the ducks are raised for a long time by small farmers for their own use, their down is as large as goose down, with dense barbs, offering excellent heat retention and durability.
