"24 Solar Terms Photo Contest" now open on Instagram! [Until Aug. 31]

IWATA, a luxury bedding manufacturer that works in harmony with nature, is holding a photo contest. The grand prize winner will receive a 100,000 yen bedding coupon. 24 selected works capturing moments that evoke the "changing of the seasons" will also be exhibited in stores!

About the Event

Kyoto bedding manufacturer IWATA (Iwata Co., Ltd.) is holding the "Twenty-Four Solar Terms Photo Contest" with the theme of Japan's beautiful four seasons. We are looking for beautiful photographs that capture moments that evoke the "changing of the seasons"!
The 24 winning photos will be displayed in stores and introduced on the IWATA account throughout next year's twenty-four solar terms.

=== What are the Twenty-Four Solar Terms? ===
The twenty-four solar terms (nijūshi sekki) divide each of the four seasons (spring, summer, autumn, and winter) into six smaller segments, representing the changing seasons, climate, and natural phenomena approximately every 15 days. They serve as a guide deeply connected to daily life, such as rice planting, harvesting, and flower blooming, and continue to enrich our sense of the seasons.
Choosing bedding according to the calendar, such as highly insulating down comforters during the crisp, cold periods of Shōkan and Daikan, or highly absorbent and quick-drying linen or thin cotton during the humid and muggy periods of Bōshu and Geshi, ensures a comfortable night's sleep throughout the four seasons.

1. Follow IWATA's Instagram account (@iwata_sleep) with your submission account.
2. Post a photo related to the twenty-four solar terms on your Instagram account, mentioning IWATA's account and using the hashtag "#IWATA節気2025".
3. Please include the shooting location and month in the caption.

This completes your application.

◆Application Guidelines

[About Participants]

• Participants under 18 years old require parental consent.
• Photos must be taken by the participant themselves.

[About Submissions]

• Submissions that are simultaneously entered into other contests will not be eligible for awards.
• Natural processing such as adjusting brightness is allowed, but deleting unnecessary objects or significantly altering the content of the scenery is prohibited.
• Please refrain from submitting works that include signboards, neon signs, brand logos, etc. in the subject matter, or that are deemed to be contrary to public order and morals.
• If the subject is a person, it is assumed that the applicant has obtained consent for their portrait rights.

[About Application Method]

• Applications other than via Instagram are not accepted.
• Please refrain from posting the same photo multiple times, or posting photos that form a single image through cropping multiple pictures.

[Other Notes]

• Winning works may be used for IWATA's sales promotion, PR, etc. In such cases, credit notation may not be possible.
• Applications can be submitted from overseas, but prizes can only be shipped within Japan.
• Individuals with private Instagram accounts or those who have deleted their posts are not eligible.
• We cannot answer inquiries regarding winner announcements or shipping status.
• Please refrain from reselling the prizes of this contest to third parties.
• If we do not receive the necessary information for prize shipment, or if the prize cannot be sent due to unknown address, inability to contact, incomplete information, etc., or if the prize is not received by the specified deadline, the right to win will be invalidated.

• After the judging is completed (from October 2025 onwards), winners will be directly notified via DM.
